A Softer Voice in Stressful Moments | Your Nightly Prayer
Have stress, frustration, or anger made your words sharper than you want them to be?
Difficult conversations are part of life. Whether you are addressing a workplace problem, navigating conflict at home, correcting someone you love, or simply trying not to react out of frustration, the way we speak matters.
Tonight’s Your Nightly Prayer invites us to ask the Holy Spirit to guard our mouths by first transforming our hearts.

Tonight’s Scripture
“Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!” — Psalm 141:3
There is a difference between speaking truth and using truth as a weapon.
God does not ask us to avoid necessary conversations. He teaches us to approach them with wisdom, patience, compassion, humility, and self-control.
Sometimes the most Christlike thing we can do is pause before responding.
Sometimes it is listening longer.
Sometimes it is speaking firmly but gently.
And sometimes it is asking God to change the internal conversation in our own hearts before we try to change someone else.
🙏 Is there a conversation you need God’s help with? Share your prayer request below, or simply write:
“Lord, guard my heart and my words.”
