I love the biblical significance of food in the Bible. So in the book of Joshua, chapter two, this is this story of the spies going in and meeting Rahab. Remember, Rahab has a home in the wall, the outside wall of Jericho. And she, you know, has a window in the wall. But she takes the spies in and then the men of the city try to come and cause trouble. So she hides them on the rooftop. She hides them. She brought them up to the rooftop and hid them in the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof. And so then she tells them to go out the window down the rope and then hide for three days and then they'll be good.

Okay, why did she hide them under the flax plant? Well, it helps to understand the meaning of flax and what flax was used for. Alright, hang in there. This is really good. Okay, so flax was used for spinning. It was used for making rope and it was used for creating garments of Lenin. We're getting there. Okay. So, spinning, weaving and making clothing the Lenin garments. Now Lenin, we need to understand Lenin represents the righteous acts of the saints, which means faith in Christ.

So the flax plant was used to make linen garments. linen garments would have been worn by the priest when they went into the temple. And hear these gentlemen, these spies from Israel. These Israelite spies are hiding on her rooftop underneath the flax underneath that linen covering, which also is used for the priest as they went into the temple of the Holy of Holies. So the linen became a symbol of God's grace. All right. Now there's other verses in the Old Testament that talk about don't mixing wool and linen in the same garment. And you may say what's up with that, because wool represents work. Lennon represents God's grace.

So here we have these men on the rooftop lying underneath the flax plants that were sorted out, and they're underneath God's grace. So Lenin was also used to make rope that would have been the same rope going outside her window, it would have been the same scarlet thread that she had outside her window later when they came to knock down the walls of Jericho. And so I just want you to understand this and Rahab is also showing her act of Salvation, her act of recognizing who God is because she says, Hey, we've heard your stories. We've heard the stories how your God, you know, dried up the Red Sea and what he did for you beyond the Jordan and she goes on and on and on, we heard about it, and our hearts melted, our hearts melted, some of that was in fear. And with Rahab. It was in recognition that she wanted this God in her life. And so she saved Israelites spies, and then therefore her whole family was saved. And it all comes down to the Black Sea.

So when you are eating flaxseed for the meal time, you could share the story of Rahab hiding the spies on the rooftop, and how God protects his own. God protects those who are on mission for him, God protects the children of Israel, and God protects us as well, because we are grafted into that vine.

Okay, I could go on all day because this is what I love. But I really want you to understand that God loves you. Until next time!
