We start with the food: serve foods that are created by God, then ask yourself if there is a story in the Bible that mentions this food. There are more foods than those mentioned so this is a stretch sometimes.
Second, we learn how much God loves us.
That love includes the nutrients included in the foods he created. These nutrients are REMOVED or lessen the more man touches and alters the food. So our best option is to eat foods as close to God’s design. And learn to enjoy it.
Greater love has man than to lay down his life ….
Finally as we read accounts in the Bible such as Daniel, esther, Abraham, etc. we look for accounts that have a food element. Then we rehearse those stories at the table while eating foods mentioned in the account. - this helps our kids and us as well to make the connection.
God knows our body has a craving desire. This desire was instilled for us to crave Him. Yet, the food manufacturers have used this system for us to crave processed foods.
Now we are separating the food from the craving. Learn to feed your body wholesome foods that make you smarter, stronger and able to persevere under struggles. Those are the foods God designed for us.
When we have cravings and not a true hunger - we need God not food.
There is a saying that is: when the student is ready the teacher will appear. Your questions says you are the ready student. Now God will reveal this answer in a sweet and satisfying way.

My doctor and I have mutual respect for each other. He understands my concern for natural remedies. one day I had a really bad cold. I knew I could solve this on my own, but I thought I would take advantage of the situation and go see my doctor. I took with me my grocery list of tests I wanted preformed. He understands me and ordered everything I wanted. The results came back with in my mail with a note – call me you need a medication.
He was right – my cholesterol level was elevated. But what caught my attention was my ovarian cancer score and my CRP.
I had to take action right away.
I had two options: call my doctor immediately or adjust my eating, supplementing and exercise and then call my doctor later.
I choose option 2.
Remember when I tested I had a bad cold virus. A virus causes inflammation. A cold can also cause dehydration. Inflammation and dehydration are major causes of high cholesterol. If I wasn’t educated, I might have taken the prescription and been on it the rest of my life.
Instead I adjusted my eating plan, increased my exercise, let my body heal from the inflammation and improved my supplement intake.
Then I retested 45 days later. All numbers were in perfect order. Even the ovarian cancer level.
The take away from this is to know what is happening to your body at the time of the test.
The opposite of too little exercise is too much. Consistently doing intensive exercise such as preparing for a marathon, century bike ride, triathlon – will all cause inflammation and a rise in cholesterol.
This is not a time to medicate – if it is in the extreme high levels – stop your intense exercise routine. Give your body a chance to recover. Eat healthy normal amounts of food. Then retest in 45 - 60-90 days after a time of recovery. 90% of the time it will lower to your normal levels.
Your body responds to what it is created for.
