Thoughts on Baptism and Why Christians do it

Salvation and water baptism are a lot like marriage. It’s not the wedding ring that makes you married, right? It’s the inner commitment and the vows that you take. Accepting Jesus as Lord and committing your life to Him, is like the wedding vows, the commitment that comes from within.
The water baptism is like putting on the wedding ring. You want people to know that you’re married. It’s a public testimony to where your loyalties lie.
I believe both the inner and outward commitment is important, based on what the Bible tells about both.

I'm aware there is an element of intelligent discussion among many of my respected brothers and sisters in Christ about this topic, especially depending on their denomination. I'm not going to hash all this out here in this video but just wanted to make a short thoughtful video about the beauty of baptism. I'm sure we, as the Bride of Christ, can handle these thoughtful disagreements in the comments section. Because...
