Today, the vegetable we're going to look at is very common, it's almost as common as corn. It's right up there with that vegetable. Most of the time people eat it out of the can, I totally want you to not do that ever again. So we're gonna look at this vegetable today.

Health Benefits Of Green Beans

The vegetable we’ll talk about today is green beans. I told you it's a traditional food that we've been eating all of our life. Yet, I never want you to go to canned green beans ever again, because you have no nutritional value, you just have a green mush. That's what I call it.

Now green beans have almost all of the vitamins of the alphabet, we've got vitamin A, C, B, K, we have minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, we need zinc, and then it has the one of the most critical. One of the most critical macronutrients, which is fiber. And fiber is the beginning of health in your gut. Because your microbiome and how it feeds off of the fiber, the bacteria feed off the fiber that feeds every element of your life. So we need fiber in our diet.

We also have flavonoids in green beans. And in the flavonoid family, we have flavonols and that's what's in these green beans to help prevent illness to help keep disease away such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and so on.

We need green beans in our diet, which is why I’ll share with you today an easy and tasty recipe for green beans that you should try today.

Now for this recipe, we're going to take one pound of green beans don't you love these old scales, I just think they're adorable. The second ingredient of the three is going to be garlic so I'm looking for some really good garlic here. They're excellent. And our third ingredient is going to be an onion. So I'm going to go ahead and get one of the sweet onions and add this to our recipe.

Once you have peeled your garlic, we're gonna go ahead and trim the end off. We'll add that to our compost directly into the garden.

Next we're going to use just one half of an onion that's just plenty for us. We only need about a half of a cup.

So we're just gonna go ahead and we're just going to use the slices There we go, we are ready with our onion slices.

Now first of all we want to blanch the green beans. So I took three cups of water out of my purified pitcher, brought it to a boil and then added my green beans. We're gonna let this boil and cook for about six minutes.

I want them more of a crisp tender. I want to be able to bite into it and you just enjoy it. That's what we're looking for.

Well I cook that for about four to five minutes to make sure it is cooked really well and I could tell the green beans are exactly how I like them and the onions are caramelized the garlic is caramelized and yum It is delicious. I also topped it with a little bit of almond slivers just for a nice appeal. Well, I hope you get more green beans into your diet. I hope you grow your own and definitely enjoy this recipe. I know your family's going to love it.
