What is a powerful prayer? I use that term a few times in the intro to this video. And I hear a lot of people on the internet say "I'm going to be praying powerfully, or I'm going to need powerful prayer." So what is that?

Well, the reason I asked you is because I believe that a lot of people use that term loosely. And they don't really understand what a powerful prayer is. So what power in prayer is, is first and foremost understanding the word. Because that is where your authority is no matter if you're praying for your children, and whatever they may be going through, or yourself, that is where your authority comes from.

The power is in the Word of God. So to pray powerfully, sometimes people think that means to talk really loudly, or to you know, to make, like a real strong statement or something like that. It has nothing to do with what it has to do with this, the understanding that its power comes from the word of God, your authority comes from the word of God.

So when you are praying a powerful prayer, you are praying the Word of God. I just wanted to make that clarification, because I think there's been some confusion about that word.
I'm really glad you did. Because just the title alone, how to pray powerfully for your children. For many people, it's intimidating.

The power of prayer is in the word and speaking God's word. So we are going to start with when we want to pray powerfully for our children and our grandchildren. It starts with our prayer life. It starts with what we believe about answered prayers. And let's just start there, what parents believe.

What we need to do is just come from a place of a positive place, which is God loves us. God doesn't want anything bad to happen to you. And we start with something that simple, thanking God that He loves us, thanking God that He protects us. And we keep it simple. All of Jesus' parables are simple. All of his teachings are simple and basic.

Praying powerfully for your children is, as we've learned, praying the answer, and the answer is in God's word. Whoever we have an influence over is who we want to be powerfully praying for.

It's not just praying for our children and our grandchildren in our quiet time, or as we go throughout the day, but is living that prayer powerfully throughout our day as an example.
