What is the difference between chopped and pitted dates? Pitted dates are simply dates that have had their pits removed. Chopped dates, however, have had dextrose added to them to keep them from sticking together. Dextrose can be made from corn, and in this case, has added sugar. It's important to always read your labels!

Dates are all throughout Scripture. Along the Jordan River is the Isle of Palms. Dates grow on palms! This can be a wonderful topic at the dinner table as you serve this chocolate sauce!

½ cup raw macadamia nuts – unsalted
½ cup raw cashews - unsalted
½ cup cherries
3 tbsp. cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup dates
2/3 cup milk

Blend ingredients until smooth.
Scrumptious as is or serve over ice cream, cake or Baked Fruit Delight.
