That Dirty Little Word - Provocation - Avi Snyder
No matter how sensitively and delicately the Gospel message is presented, the very news that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead will always provoke. For some, the provocation is rooted in the conviction of their sin to repentance and faith. Others, however, are provoked to reject, revile, and oppose the good news. Speaking the truth and speaking in love presents a unique challenge: How can we put forth a testimony that’s both loving and sensitive without rendering dull a message that by definition is sharper than a two-edged sword? This talk examines the Scriptures that describe a number of qualities that produce a biblically provocative testimony – one that is both accurate and compassionate.
