I Thought He Was the One. Should I Wait For Him? - Your Questions, Honest Answers

There is this guy that I thought would be "the one." I prayed for God to bring us together–and he did. We talked about a future together. We were together for 9 months until his old high school ex-girlfriend got a divorce and moved back into our little town. He then broke up with me and started dating her–on the same day–saying that he had never stopped loving her and how he thinks they are meant to be together. I'm confused and feel lost. I fully believed that he was the one God wanted me to be with. I learned so much and grew to become a better person in that relationship. Should I continue to pray and wait? Or should I let him go and never look back?
