Once you get the attention, you can divert that attention to where you want it to go. Some of the most successful people have multiple brands in different industries from energy drinks, sports clothing, shoes to movies, production companies, and real estate. The opportunity is endless. Once they build the attention, they take their brand and channel it to multiple companies over different industries collaborating with other businesses to grow their company and share in the profit. If your business has a saleable entity, then yes, absolutely build that companies brand. It's got goodwill, good capital, and will have value when you go to sell it. But what are you going to do next? Start from scratch? Building a personal brand is as important as building a brand for your company. Giving you the ability already to have a solid following of people that are already on your side to help start the next project.
