A day in the life on a homestead kitchen in late winter, as the season begins to turn toward spring and simple homemaking fills the day.

After days of cold and snow, there is a quiet shift in the air, just enough to begin thinking about what comes next. In this video, we spend the day together on the Biblical Homestead, moving between the kitchen, the barnyard, and the small, steady work that makes up real life.

I make a simple, hearty chili lentil soup, warm, filling, and made from humble ingredients you likely already have on hand. It’s the kind of meal that carries you through the in-between season, when winter isn’t quite finished but spring is beginning to press in.

There’s also time spent in the barnyard, checking on things and taking in the rhythm of the animals, along with a bit of work inside as I begin a small cupboard update and tend to everyday household chores. Also, a trip down memory lane.

Nothing here is hurried or polished, just real life, lived out in the ordinary.

So come along, settle in, and let’s spend a little time together.
