What You Almost Gave Up On... Is Still Growing
Job 8:7 | MORE IS COMING
What YOU have seen so far is not the measure of what is coming.
Not the setbacks. Not the losses. Not the season that took more from YOU than YOU ever thought YOU could survive and still stand. What YOU have walked through up to this point was never meant to be the summary of YOUR life — it was meant to be the smallest part of it.
Job 8:7 says something about YOUR beginning and YOUR latter end that most people have quietly stopped believing about themselves.
Here is what most people miss — this word was not spoken in a season of abundance. It was spoken to someone who had lost nearly everything. Someone whose beginning had just been reduced to almost nothing. And in the middle of the greatest loss recorded in the entire Bible, a declaration was made about the end that contradicted absolutely everything the circumstances were saying.
The circumstances said it was over.
The declaration said it had barely started.
There is a specific contrast built into this one verse — between what things looked like at the beginning and what they were guaranteed to become at the end — that changes the way YOU measure the season YOU are standing in right now. Because if this is true, then the size of YOUR current beginning is not evidence of the size of YOUR ending. In fact, the smaller the beginning, the more stunning the contrast God is setting up.
Most people read this and apply it to someone else.
This message is about why it was written for YOU.
There is something about the way YOUR latter end is described here — the scale of it, the direction of it, the certainty of it — that most people have never sat with long enough to let it reset their expectations. And when YOU understand what it actually promises, YOU will stop measuring YOUR future by the size of what YOU have left.
