1. what is the “best time” to workout?
There are no physiological (physical/metabolism) benefits or disadvantages to choosing one time over another for working out. The main benefit is psychological (mental). The BEST TIME is a time you can consistently stick to. Find gaps in your day where you are mindlessly scrolling or doing things that pull you further from your goals, and replace it with a workout. I suggest choosing a “non negotiable” time and a “back up” time, because lets be honest, life happens to all of us.
2. how many times per week do I need to workout to see results?
Simply put, if you are currently doing 0 intentional movement throughout the week, simply adding 1 workout can make a difference. Forcing yourself to workout every day of the week right off the bat can often backfire and leave you more discouraged than when you started. Remember, you can always add more when you’re feeling ready. If you’re the kind of person that needs someone to tell you exactly what workouts to do, ill leave my monday-
3. how long will it take for me to see results?
This is different for every person, but as a general rule, it can take 3-4 months of consistency to see noticeable and sustainable (physical) results. This is why I suggest to also make mental, emotional, and quality of life goals that you can celebrate along the way.
4. what do l need to cut out of my diet?
Cutting entire food groups (even if they are unnecessary- like sweets) can often do more harm than good, leading to disordered eating.
Focus first on either decreasing your portion sizes of your current diet, OR focusing on one meal that you can upgrade to make more healthy. You’d be surprised how small changes like these can make a significant change.
5. what workout will give me the best results?
There are so many styles of workouts. The best to get YOU results, is a workout you enjoy, and want to come back to. The most important thing is that you make it EASY to assimilate into your schedule. As a busy mom of 2, home walking workouts work the best for me!
