The Restored Caravaggios at San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome

Friends, I stopped by San Luigi dei Francesi, the national church of France, today while in Rome to see the four restored Caravaggios. Thank you to the staff who graciously allowed us in and treated us to a marvelous presentation.

While standing in this great church dedicated to St. Louis and France, I couldn’t help but think of Pope Leo’s recent visit and the response he received. Amid talk of secularization and loss of faith, young people filled an arena cheering for the saints of the eldest daughter of the Church. Something is happening in the West. I pray that this revival, which is gaining momentum, continues.
