Should Christians REALLY be Doing This as an Act of Faith?

Mark 16:17–18 says believers “will pick up snakes with their hands, and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them.” Some churches have taken this literally, and sadly, people have lost their lives because of it.

This passage was never meant as a command for Christians to prove their faith. It described miraculous signs that confirmed the message of the early apostles as they spread the gospel.

God calls us to trust Him, not to put ourselves in harm’s way with deadly and dangerous acts.

Real faith is not about risking your life to prove to God that you believe. It's about having confidence in who Jesus is and what He has done.
