Liturgy of the Hours: Night Prayer for Wednesday

Friends, on this Wednesday in Ordinary Time, I invite you to join me for Night Prayer.

Night Prayer is the final “hour” of the Liturgy of the Hours, the official prayer of the Church by which, in a structured way, the hours of the day are sanctified.

These prayers link you, in a powerful way, to the great tradition of the Church. Thomas Aquinas, Augustine, and Jesus himself knew and prayed these same Psalms.

As the Hours are traditionally prayed in community, I encourage you to engage actively with this prayer rather than observing it silently.

If you want the rhythm of these prayers to continue to inform your spiritual life, visit www.wordonfire.org/pray to check out Word on Fire’s monthly booklet containing Morning, Evening, and Night Prayer for each day.
