How long should you labor at home?
Mama Natural
Laboring at home can be a beautiful and empowering experience. 💪✨ Even if you’re not planning a home birth, laboring at home as long as possible has many benefits!
1️⃣ Being home can often help labor progress faster because you feel comfortable and safe in your own space.
2️⃣ Laboring at home can reduce the chance of unnecessary interventions.
3️⃣ There is more freedom at home. You can eat, drink, rest, and use hydrotherapy to help cope with early labor.

But before you embark on this incredible journey, let me share a golden rule with you: ⭐the 411 rule! ⭐
Time your contractions! When your contractions are consistently 👉4 minutes apart, lasting 👉1 minute, and continuing for 👉1 hour, it’s a sign that active labor has begun.
❤️ For second time mamas, follow the 511 rule (5 minutes apart, lasting one minute, following this pattern for one hour).
Laboring at home is a beautiful option, but always discuss your birth plan with your midwife or provider beforehand for your specific situation. 🤗
