Constipation isn’t fun for anyone — babies included! 💩
Here’s the 411 on constipation relief:
👉Food: If your baby is on solid food, try adding certain foods to your baby’s day. Cooked plums (aka prunes) and pears are good for poop! Peaches and peas are good too!
🍌 Avoid bananas, oats, potatoes if baby is constipated.
👉Magnesium: Give baby a warm bath with 2 TB- ¼ cup of epsom salts. Use magnesium spray on baby’s feet or inner thighs.
Magnesium isn’t just for babies. Mamas may also see that their magnesium stores get low, which can affect babies’ bowels. Low magnesium = slow bowels. Try adding magnesium glycinate to your routine. Aim for 200-400 mg per day to help you (and baby) stay regular.
👉Exercise and massage: Baby massage, bicycle legs, and tummy time all help release gas bubbles and help stimulate the bowels.
👉Infant probiotic: With 10 strands of probiotics, the Mama Natural Infant Probiotic delivers exactly what your baby’s gut needs. You can also apply directly to the nipple if breastfeeding.
👉Homeopathy: I love homeopathy. We use homeopathic remedies to address so many issues, including tummy troubles like constipation. Always consult with doctor or healthcare provider before administering.
