Today I want to share with you five reasons Christians should celebrate Passover. Now growing up, I knew about Passover, but I didn't understand the true in depth value of Passover, I celebrated Easter, I would do the Easter egg hunt in the morning, I'd wake up and our Easter baskets would be hidden and I'd have to go find them. And they'd always be filled with lots of really good chocolate that's like a must, and an Easter chocolate Easter rabbit and also some spring goodies, gifts, prizes, all of that, then we would go to church, we would understand about the cross and the resurrection.

Here are 5 reasons why Christians should celebrate Passover. And the reason I brought up Easter is because sometimes we only look at Easter, we don't look at the Passover.

1. Jesus and his disciples celebrated Passover

When they were growing up as a child, they celebrated Passover. It's not just the last Passover that Jesus celebrated with His disciples. It was every year of his life, he would have celebrated Passover. So I want to challenge you to reenact with your family the story of the Passover in Exodus, because that's the Passover Jesus was celebrating.

2. To recount the story how Exodus is related to the Passover

3. To remember God's plan for redemption.

We celebrate Passover, it helps us remember that God delivered not just the people back in Egypt, but he used people in his day in time when Christ was the Passover lamb to remind us that the reason he's doing it is for redemption, and we need that redemption.

4. It helps us set a timeline for the three days and three nights.

So when we understand when Passover is set up, now I would have the children go out and look because Passover is set up by a full moon. And realize, wait a minute, if there was a full moon, that's when the sacrifice would have taken place. And you needed a full moon to be able to see because it was done at twilight.

5. To reflect on God's deliverance of sin.

Passover is about Christ's redemption on the cross. We don't have to celebrate it because of our sin. Every year. We celebrate it as a reminder of what God did for us. He was our ultimate Passover lamb, he was the redemption for our sin, and for the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Christ was the gift of life to us.

But here's the thing, no matter what your view is, on the three days, three nights, no matter what your view is on the on the Passover, the good news is always the same never changes Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and he was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures and that we can take to the bank, we can take our take it all the way to heaven.
