An old monk and an abbot of a monastery in Constantinople called Eutyches defended Alexandrian Christology to the extinct that he failed to distinguish between the 'human and divine natures of Christ in thought-alone' according to Cyril of Alexandria. Matters became complicated after the Council of Chalcedon. Many attempts were made to reconcile both parties after the council, but unfortunately, they failed. Many were killed for being with or against the Tome of Leo. Check out more details regarding this era in this video!
