When blind Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing his way, he cried out for the Lord to have mercy on him. The people around him told him to be quiet, but he cried all the more. His cry got Jesus’ attention. That was no ordinary cry. That was the cry of faith. “Bring him to me,” Jesus said. Bartimaeus cast away his beggar’s garment in faith, believing that would be the last day of his life as a beggar. He was expecting a miracle. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. “Lord, give me my sight,” Bartimaeus said. He had a focused request, and he got his breakthrough. God gave him a miracle and opened his eyes, and he followed Jesus. What do you want God to do for you?
