Why should the church be concerned that marriage and fertility rates have declined in Europe?

David Sandifer, born in France to American parents, holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Cambridge. With two decades of pastoral ministry experience in the U.S. and Australia, he has also contributed to Christian advocacy efforts, notably co-launching a campaign to protect children from online pornography. Now a lecturer in practical theology and ethics at Tyndale Theological Seminary in the Netherlands, he is passionate about renewing the European church and equipping Christian families. Here David Sandifer answers questions about their talk 'Encouraging Marriage, Honouring Singleness: Responding to the European Marriage Recession', recorded at ELF 2026.
