Jesus had miraculously fed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish. The day following, many of those who had been fed sought him out as they had questions!
They found him. Jesus knew their attraction towards him was miracle based and not true message based. In a recent podcast we observed, Jesus immediately told them to stop pursuing physical things and instead pursue the food of eternal life that he would give them. Their response? Give us a sign like the manna God gave Israel in the wilderness! Didn’t Jesus just give them signs?

Instead, Jesus told them he was God’s bread of life from heaven. Ok good news, until Jesus spoke about eating his flesh and drinking his blood. Why would he say that?
