Why did the angel say "Fear not"? Christian Questions, Moments that Matter


To be able to tell someone who is afraid to “fear not” and actually have a reassuring effect on them is powerful. Helping someone to “fear not” is to replace fear with peace and assurance.

“Fear not” was proclaimed before, during and after Jesus’ ministry. Before his birth, when angels told Zacharias, Mary and a group of shepherds to “fear not” they were relaying God’s personal assurances. When God says fear not, you don’t need to be afraid.
