Who is God? (Part II) Moments that Matter, Christian Questions
Grasping who God is, is daunting. In part 1 of our series, we observed God’s introduction to humanity in Genesis 1 and 2 and then focused on His revealment to Abraham. In Part 2, a recent podcast, we continued with God revealing Himself to Moses. This happened on Mount Horeb with an angel and the burning bush. While God here told Moses of the overwhelming task to deliver His people out from slavery in Egypt, He also revealed His name.
God described Himself as “I Am that I Am”, the self-existing one, the God above all who was, is and always will be. HE would deliver the enslaved Hebrews and Moses would be His representative. Does the magnitude of this proclamation even register in our brains? Do we realize the might and power of God’s very nature, wisdom, and plans?

God’s power and plan released the Hebrews from there generational slavery in Egypt. As they were being freed, God was described in yet another way. He was now Lord of the millions who were being freed. He would become known as the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.
