When Jesus said, "It is finished," what did he begin? Moments that Matter, Christian Questions
As Jesus approached his death on the cross, he said two things. First was “It is finished” and afterwards came the loud proclamation of putting his own spirit into God’s hands. Some may think “It is finished” was a statement of resignation, but we believe Jesus meant it as a comfort and as a sign of victory.
In a recent podcast we observed that what Jesus finished at this moment of death was plentiful. “The man Christ Jesus” finished the miracles the teaching the revolutionary ideas the fulfilling of the Law and the payment of the Ransom price for Adam’s sins.
