When Fear of the Future Gets Loud | Your Nightly Prayer

What the doctor might say.

What happens if the job doesn't work out.

What your family will face.

What your finances will look like.

What happens if the thing you're afraid of actually happens.

Fear has a way of taking one unknown and turning it into an entire story.

Tonight’s Your Nightly Prayer is about letting God—not fear—narrate your future.

Tonight’s Scripture

“For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’” — Isaiah 41:13

Israel faced a genuinely uncertain future.

Exile.

Loss.

Displacement.

Change.

Yet God did not promise that nothing difficult would happen.

He promised His presence.

That same God still meets us in uncertainty.

Deuteronomy 31:8 reminds us that He goes before us.

Romans 8 reminds us that nothing can separate us from His love.

You may not know what tomorrow holds.

But fear doesn't know either.

So don't let fear speak with more authority than God.

Tonight, ask yourself:

What story have I been telling myself about the future—and is it actually true?

Then come back to what you know.

God is with you.

God will help you.

God is already present in the places you haven't reached yet.

You can simply pray:

“Lord, quiet fear and help me trust the story You are writing.”
