What will we be doing when we get to heaven? Pt 1 Moments that Matter, Christian Questions
Heaven is NOT the destination for everyone who says they love Jesus. Why? Adam’s sin sentenced humanity to death. Jesus’ ransom paid for that sin, satisfied justice, and granted humanity the right to a resurrected earthly life. Going to Heaven means giving up everything and walking in Jesus’ sacrificial footsteps. Heaven is not a result of justice, it’s a higher, unmerited gift of grace.
In a recent podcast, we examined what it means to go to Heaven. Jesus emphatically taught us Heaven will be the home of his faithful followers, as he was going to prepare a place for them in his Father’s house. Think about the magnitude of this staggering and eternal privilege!

But what do the faithful DO in Heaven? In 1 Peter 2, Peter unfolds several important titles and responsibilities given to the faithful, like “Chosen Race” and “Royal Priesthood”. In Isaiah 61, there are further descriptions of what Jesus’ followers will be doing. Combining the Old and New Testaments reveals the extensive and profound heavenly work of Jesus’ disciples.
