What MOST Christians get WRONG about money...

I either make a lot of money and therefore I don't really worry that much about stewardship because I got plenty, .

And so you can skate by and be sloppy because of that. Then on the other hand, the, "Oh, you need to be good steward mentality," means you don't make enough money. So, you just need to pinch pennies. Neither of those to me feel right.

Our book, Simple Money, Rich Life is based on this John Wesley quote where he says, "I earn all that I can, as much as I possibly can by writing and by speaking. Then I save as much as I can by not wasting money (AKA stewardship). And I do all of that so that I can give as much as I possibly can."

Yes. Use your God given gifts to make as much money as you can. Yes, make sure your heart is in the right posture and you're not serving money, but you're serving God with money, but then you're stewarding it well, making the most of it. And that doesn't mean hyper frugality you can live your life and enjoy your life. we have a responsibility regardless of how much we're making to manage and steward that money well, because it's not ours, it's God's. We're just managing it for him.
