What is truth? Moments that Matter, Christian Questions

On the morning Jesus was crucified, Pilate asked him the famous question, “What is truth?”
In our time truth is subjective, as endless information and opinions encourage us to create and adopt our own personal truths. This results in truth becomes what we decide it should be. In a recent podcast we observed how sad and misleading these conclusions are. Why? We’ve confused “truth” with personal observations, opinions and values.

The story of a group of blind men seeking to describe an elephant by their touch observations, reminds us of this. The first man thought the elephant was like a snake as he held onto its trunk. The second described it to be like a rope as he held its slender tail. The third man described the elephant to be like a pillar or tree trunk as he put his arms around one of its massive legs. All of these men spoke the truth, yet none of them could fully describe the elephant. Why? They were limited by their own perspectives.
