What did Jesus really think of the Pharisees? (Pt I) Moments that Matter, Christian Questions

During the last few weeks of Jesus’ ministry, one of the many significant events recorded in scripture, was his proclaiming of seven woes to the scribes and Pharisees. These spiritual leaders of Israel always opposed Jesus. For 3½ years they challenged and criticized him. Jesus performed miracles in spite of them, asked them questions they couldn’t answer, and to their dismay, he taught all of the people.

In a recent podcast we observed that even as these scribes and Pharisees had begun plotting his death, Jesus loved them anyway. His proclamation of these hard and truth filled criticisms was done publicly. Why? Because they daily paraded their hypocrisy and self-elevating behavior before the people. Both the people and these leaders had a right to know their serious misrepresentations of God’s Law.
