Tired of Trying to Fix Yourself? Find Your Identity in Christ

There always seems to be something about ourselves we’re supposed to fix.
Tonight’s Your Nightly Prayer is permission to step out of that exhausting cycle.

Tonight’s Scripture
“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” — Colossians 3:3

Self-improvement isn’t inherently wrong.
Growth can be good.
Healthy change can be good.
But there’s a difference between growing and constantly believing you need to become someone else before you’re worthy of love.
The Gospel frees us from building our identity through performance.
You don’t have to construct a version of yourself impressive enough to earn God’s acceptance.
Your identity is found in Christ.
Before another goal.
Another trend.
Another reinvention.
Another attempt to keep up.
Pause tonight and ask:
Who have I been trying so hard to become?
And what would happen if, instead, you rested in who God says you already are?
Loved.
Known.
Created with purpose.
Belonging to Christ.
You can still grow.
But you don’t have to grow from a place of self-rejection.

🙏 Where have you felt pressure to become someone you’re not?
Tonight, simply pray:
“Jesus, help me rest in who I am in You.”
