When YOU can sense that someone is scheming — watching YOU, waiting for YOU to slip, planning something behind the scenes — it can feel like YOU are always on the defensive, bracing for a blow YOU cannot predict. But Mark 3 reveals something that takes the fear out of being targeted: their next move does not catch God off guard, and when YOU are walking with Him, it does not catch YOU off guard either.
There was a group watching someone closely, not to learn from Him, but to trap Him.
They were looking for any reason to accuse Him. They had already decided He was a threat, and they were waiting for the moment they could use against Him. It was a quiet, calculated setup — the kind of scheme that is meant to work precisely because the target does not see it coming.
Here is what most people miss.
He already knew. Scripture says He knew their thoughts — He saw the plot before they made their move. So instead of being caught off guard, He did the very thing they were waiting for, right out in the open, and turned it into a moment that exposed the hardness of their own hearts. Their trap did not surprise Him. If anything, He was a step ahead of it the entire time.
And watch what happened after their plot escalated.
When they left and took their scheming to the next level — now plotting to destroy Him — He was not thrown into a panic. He made a strategic, Spirit-led move, withdrawing to a place where, instead of being cornered, He was followed by a great multitude. The more they plotted, the more God positioned Him. Their next move simply became the backdrop for God's next move.
There is something in the fact that He knew their thoughts, exposed their hearts, and stayed a step ahead of their scheming that will completely change how YOU carry the sense that someone is working against YOU. Because nothing they are planning
