More than forty men made a vow. They swore an oath that they would not eat or drink until they had killed the Apostle Paul. Forty people. One target. A secret conspiracy. And God already knew about every word of it.
"But Paul's nephew heard about the plot and went to the barracks and told Paul. Then Paul called one of the centurions and said, 'Take this young man to the commander. He has something important to tell him.'" — Acts 23:16-17 (NLT)
Let these words resonate within your heart today. God used a young boy — Paul's nephew — to expose a plot that forty armed men had sworn in secret. The enemy thought the plan was hidden. The enemy thought no one knew. Take comfort in this truth — there is no plot formed against you in darkness that God cannot expose in the light. He sees every conspiracy. He hears every secret meeting. And He will always send the right person at the right moment to cancel what the enemy planned against your life.
"The commander called two of his officers and ordered, 'Get 200 soldiers ready to leave for Caesarea at nine o'clock tonight. Also take 200 spearmen and 70 mounted horsemen.'" — Acts 23:23 (NLT)
Understand this — God sent 470 soldiers to escort one man. Forty men made a vow to kill Paul. God mobilized 470 soldiers in response. That is the God we serve. He does not match the enemy's resources — He OVERWHELMS them. Every plot against your life will be met with a divine response that is disproportionately greater than anything the enemy deployed against you.
May this teaching from Acts 23:12-24 fill your heart with peace and remind you that no secret plot formed against you shall prosper.
