The Light That Doesn’t Fade Early | Your Nightly Prayer

The light disappears.

Your thoughts get louder.

And suddenly the things you managed during the day feel harder to carry.

Tonight’s Scripture

“I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness...” — John 8:12

As summer fades and nighttime begins arriving earlier, darkness can feel uncomfortable.

But Scripture repeatedly gives us the same beautiful image:

Light.

God's Word is a lamp for our feet.

God floods our hearts with light.

And Jesus calls Himself the Light of the world.

Maybe God won't illuminate the entire road ahead tonight.

Maybe you still don't know what tomorrow holds.

Maybe there's a decision you haven't figured out or a fear you can't completely shake.

But you don't need enough light to see the entire journey.

You need enough light for the next step.

And you have something even greater than a lantern.

You have Jesus.

The sun sets.

Seasons change.

Nights get longer.

But His light does not fade.

🙏 What feels uncertain or frightening tonight?

Simply pray:

“Jesus, give me enough light for my next step.”
