The Covenant (Abraham | PART 2) – OFFICIAL TRAILER 1

Continuing the story of Abram, desperate for a child, Sarai gives her Egyptian maidservant, Hagar, to Abram as a surrogate. Hagar soon conceives and gives birth to Ishmael, but household tension explodes when Hagar begins to despise her mistress, Sarai. In distress, Hagar flees into the wilderness, where she has a life-changing encounter with the Angel of the Lord, who sees her suffering and promises her a future.

Later, God appears to Abraham once again. He changes his name from Abram to Abraham (“father of many nations”) and renames Sarai to Sarah (“princess for many”). God establishes the covenant of circumcision and promises that Sarah will bear a son named Isaac, even though Abraham is 100 years old and Sarah is 90.

Soon after, God Himself and two angels visit Abraham under the oaks of Mamre, where he shows them extraordinary hospitality. During this divine visit, God reveals His plans to judge the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, leading to Abraham’s bold intercession as he bargains with God to spare the cities if even only ten righteous people are found.

This sets the stage for the dramatic destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot’s narrow escape, and the powerful lesson of not looking back.
