The Church With No Doors: What Archaeologists Found Next

An extraordinary mosaic inscription honoring the Apostle Peter helped bring this Byzantine church to worldwide attention. But one question remains: where was the entrance? Archaeologists found evidence of earlier doorways, yet the church’s later phase appears to have no doors at all. Why would someone renovate a church this way, and how did people get inside?

We also get our first look at a roughly 2,000-year-old Roman street, with original walls still standing about 10 feet high. Seeing these buildings so well preserved brings the ancient village into focus and raises an exciting question: could the apostles have walked here?

Along the way, we hear why the team is searching beneath an old barn for a possible synagogue, examine an ancient pottery find with Dr. Steven Notley, and meet Dr. Chris McKinny and the Lipscomb University team as they investigate the deeper history of Galilee.
