“It’s not fair”<br />
<br />
How many times has your heart uttered those words?<br />
<br />
I know for myself, it seems like an almost daily occurrence.<br />
<br />
When I see others (on social media especially) living their perfect lives, driving their perfect cars, going on their picture perfect vacations, and I’m over here dealing with struggle upon struggle, and I feel like I’m barely surviving each day… my heart is quick to say “it’s just not fair”.<br />
<br />
Then I read this quote, and I immediately felt convicted.<br />
<br />
“Thank goodness God is not in the business of fighting for fair. Because if He was, there would be no Jesus.”<br />
<br />
The ultimate display of “unfair” was a perfect man (Jesus), taking the punishment and dying on the cross for sinful people so that they could be free from the consequences of the law that they broke over and over again.<br />
<br />
Talk about unfair.<br />
<br />
But if God was in the business of fair, He wouldn’t have sent Jesus, and we wouldn’t have had a Savior.<br />
<br />
So the next time you, or I, have thoughts of “that’s not fair”… remember the cross. Thank God that sometimes things aren’t fair 🤍<br />
