Strong Boundaries, Gentle Love | Your Nightly Prayer
Your Daily Prayer
Is there someone in your life who seems to rub you the wrong way every time?
A difficult family member.
A tense friendship.
A coworker.
A church relationship.
Someone who leaves you replaying conversations long after they’re over.

Tonight’s Your Nightly Prayer is about how to respond without becoming bitter—and without pretending unhealthy behavior is acceptable.
Tonight’s Scripture
“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable…think about such things.” — Philippians 4:8
Kyle Norman uses the phrase “sandpaper people” for those relationships that seem to rub against us.
And those relationships can expose something in us.
We start rehearsing why we’re right.
Why they’re wrong.
What we should’ve said.
What they deserve.
But following Jesus doesn’t mean letting bitterness occupy our hearts.
At the same time, Christian love does not require accepting harmful behavior.
You can forgive and still set a boundary.
You can pray for someone and still need distance.
You can choose grace without giving someone unlimited access to you.
You can love someone without pretending everything they do is okay.
That is where strong boundaries and gentle love meet.
Philippians 4:8 invites us to be intentional about what we allow our minds and hearts to dwell on.
Tonight, ask yourself:
Can I set the boundary I need without allowing resentment to become the center of my heart?
🙏 Who do you need God’s wisdom to love well right now?
You can simply pray:
“Jesus, help me protect peace without hardening my heart.”
