YOU prayed. YOU waited. And when the answer did not come, YOU started filling the quiet with the worst conclusion: that God heard and said no, that the door is closed, that YOU should stop asking and accept it. But Luke 18 was told for one specific reason — to keep the person in exactly YOUR position from making that exact mistake. Because the silence YOU are misreading as denial may only be delay.

There is a parable here that begins with the reason it was told, stated up front.

It was given so that people would always pray and never lose heart — never faint, never quit, never give up in the waiting. And that tells YOU something before the story even starts: the danger this parable was designed to protect YOU from is not that God won't answer. It is that YOU will stop asking right before He does.

Here is what most people miss.

The story centers on someone who kept coming back with the same request, again and again, even after being turned away at first. She was refused. Delayed. Given every reason to conclude it was hopeless. And yet the very thing that finally moved the situation was the one thing most people abandon too soon. What broke through was not connections or leverage — it was a quality YOU can carry into YOUR own praying starting today.

And then comes the comparison that changes everything.

Because the one she kept appealing to was not even a good person — he was unwilling, unjust, and had no reason to help her. If persistence could move someone like that, a "how much more" follows about YOUR heavenly Father that dismantles the idea that God is reluctant to answer YOU. There is even a promise here about how quickly God responds to those who cry out to Him day and night — and it is not the slow, grudging picture YOU have been imagining.

But it ends with a question that lands
