Should Christians be politically driven? Moments that Matter, Christian Questions


In Jesus’ day Israel was under the iron grip of Roman rule. They could self-govern as long as they paid their taxes and didn’t cause trouble. Three of Israel’s political “ruling class” sects were the scribes, the Pharisees and the Sadducees. While this ruling class ruled, they also constantly wrangled and debated with each other.

In a recent podcast we observed that the best way to grasp our role related to politics is to look at the role Jesus himself played. He did interact with the ruling class and the tax collectors and the rebellious Zealots. So, what was his interaction like? How did they treat him and what is our takeaway from all of this?
