Rest for the Soul That Feels Crowded | Your Nightly Prayer

Maybe you're finally in bed, but you're thinking about:

What didn't get finished.

What tomorrow requires.

The bills.

The kids.

Work.

Family.

The conversation you need to have.

The problem you still haven't solved.

Sometimes our bodies stop long before our souls do.

Tonight's Your Nightly Prayer is an invitation into a deeper kind of rest.

Tonight's Scripture

“Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere...” — Psalm 84:10

We often look for rest through vacations, weekends, entertainment, sleep, or simply escaping our responsibilities for a while.

Those things can help.

But Jesus offers something deeper.

In Matthew 11:28, He says:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Not just physical rest.

Rest for your soul.

Resting in God doesn't mean ignoring responsibilities or pretending problems don't exist.

It means recognizing that you were never meant to carry every burden by yourself.

Psalm 23 gives us the picture of a shepherd leading his sheep beside quiet waters.

John 10 tells us Jesus is that Good Shepherd.

And tonight, He is still inviting tired people to come close.

You don't have to solve tomorrow before you sleep.

You don't have to finish everything before you rest.

You don't have to carry everything tonight.
