Prayer to seek Forgiveness from the Lord

Heavenly Father,
Today, we humbly come before you, recognizing our imperfections and the mistakes we have made along our journey. We acknowledge that we have fallen short and seek your divine forgiveness. Your mercy is boundless, and we know that you are a God of compassion and love.

In Psalm 51:1-2, it is written, "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion, blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin." Lord, we lay our sins before you, asking for your forgiveness to cleanse us from all our wrongdoings.

We pray for the strength to acknowledge our faults and the courage to seek forgiveness from those we have hurt. In Matthew 6:14-15, your word reminds us, "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Grant us the grace to forgive as you forgive us, so that our hearts may be unburdened and our spirits may be set free.

Lord, we also ask for your guidance to resist the temptation to repeat the same mistakes. Help us learn from our errors and grow stronger in your wisdom and love.
In this moment of introspection and prayer, we release any feelings of guilt, shame, or regret. Instead, we embrace the gift of your forgiveness and the promise of a fresh start.

Lord, as we receive Your forgiveness, let us extend the same compassion to others. Teach us to be forgiving and understanding, recognizing that we are all imperfect beings in need of Your grace. Help us embody the spirit of forgiveness, as Ephesians 4:32 reminds us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
