Is the Church in America trading Scripture for comfort? Philip Anthony Mitchell, founder and lead pastor of Atlanta's fast-growing 2819 Church, warns that biblical illiteracy and cultural Christianity are draining the Church's power. He says believers today have plenty of sermons, songs, conferences and podcasts, but very little Bible.

Mitchell pushes back on feel-good preaching, prosperity theology and a "soft" Jesus. He challenges Christians to read the Word for themselves, pursue authentic faith, and boldly contend for the truth, starting in the prayer closet.
