Galatians 2:11 — “But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.”

Pastor Patrick Hines explains one of the most striking moments in the New Testament: an apostle publicly confronting another apostle. Peter had withdrawn from Gentile believers out of fear. Paul saw that this conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel — and he refused to stay silent.

This is not a personality clash. It is about justification by faith, the unity of Jew and Gentile in Christ, and when a Christian must speak even if it costs him.

There is a time to keep silence and a time to speak (Ecclesiastes 3:7). Scripture shows both. Paul chose to speak because the gospel was being compromised in public.
