Panel discussion: Faith in democracy
Chaired by broadcaster Mishal Husain in collaboration with Theos, Westminster Abbey Institute hosted a panel discussion about how people of all faiths and none can help strengthen the future of democracy on 16th September 2026. Speakers including Dame Caroline Spelman, Vicky Fox, Dr Nick Spencer, and the Reverend Dr James Hawkey discussed the prominent role faith has played in the evolution of British democracy. In an increasingly pluralist and multi faith society, what are the shared values that can continue to sustain public trust and democratic consent?
