Our Trip Through Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana

Hey guys! We thought it might be fun to share some clips from one of our trips last month. We were out of town a lot in February, tagging along with Colt to different gigs. This trip started in Laurel, Mississippi. We were on our way to Texas for the gigs, but we wanted to stop in Laurel because we love the show Home Town on HGTV. It was such a sweet city, and everything Ben and Erin (the hosts of the show) said it is. If you find yourself nearby, stop in the Scent Library (the candle store) and grab Sunday Boots and Buttermilk Biscuit. I have already used them all up! 😊 The next stop was Dallas, Texas for Colt’s series of gigs. That’s where we spent the majority of our time but ironically have the least amount of video footage. We did stop at a really good (and unbeknownst to us until we got there) really expensive barbeque restaurant. After that we headed out toward Waco, Texas to visit the Silos. This was the second time we’ve been there but it was far less crowded this time than the first. The kids got to make good use of the ball field there. I took a curveball to the neck, which was caught on camera. HAHA! We left there and headed to San Antonio for the night. We got in late but in time to catch the last boat tour down the river. We didn’t have a lot of time in San Antonio but we couldn’t miss going to the Alamo before we headed out. It was a beautiful day to tour the grounds and the historical site itself. We watched a series of YouTube videos to learn about the history before we got there. We left San Antonio and headed toward Baton Rouge for the night and a quick meetup with our friend the next morning before we got on the road again. We arrived in New Orleans in time to explore the city a bit during the daytime. Colt and I had been there but the kids were first timers. It is a feast for the senses that’s for sure. We loved hearing different types of music on every corner. Of course, we had to stop at Café Du Monde for beignets. 😊 That night we managed to get the last few tickets to see the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. That was something we won’t soon forget! The next morning we made our way back home. These videos are a departure from what we normally post and honestly are more for us to look back on one day, but we hope you enjoy coming along with us this time!

Hello everyone! We're the Clark family. Colt (the dad) is a professional musician and Aubree (me, the mom behind the camera) is a photographer. Together we home school our three children. To keep busy during the shutdown we started learning and recording a new song every other day to share with our friends and family. We love playing music and spending time together as a family. Hopefully these songs brighten your day!
