Dear Lord our God,
as we stand
on the threshold of a new year,
we kneel before Your majesty,
our hearts filled with
both gratitude and trepidation.
We raise our voices
in thanksgiving
for the year that has passed,
for the blessings
You have showered upon us,
for the lessons learned,
and for the love
that has sustained us.
We remember, O Lord,
the joys of this past year,
the laughter shared with loved ones,
the warmth of community,
the triumphs, big and small,
that brought a smile to our faces.
We hold these moments close,
like embers in the cold,
a reminder of Your goodness and grace.
Yet, Lord, we also confess our failings.
We lament the times we stumbled,
the paths we strayed,
the words spoken in haste
that caused pain.
We seek Your forgiveness,
Your mercy, Your cleansing light
to wash away the stains of our transgressions.
And now, Father,
with eyes turned towards
the unknown horizon of this new year,
we pray for strength and guidance.
We pray for the wisdom of Solomon,
to discern Your will
in the choices that lie ahead.
We pray for the courage of St. Michael,
to stand firm
against temptation and doubt.
We pray for the unwavering faith of Mary,
to trust in your plans
even when the way seems lost.
Fill us, dear Jesus,
with Your boundless love.
Let it overflow
in our interactions with others,
in acts of kindness and compassion,
in bridges built instead of walls.
May we be instruments of Your peace,
spreading Your light
in a world often shrouded in darkness.
Holy Spirit, our fire and our comfort,
we invite you to dwell within us.
Be our inspiration, our guiding force,
our strength in times of weakness.
Remind us of your promises,
whisper hope in our ears,
and lead us ever closer
to the kingdom of heaven.
As the chimes of the New Year
echo through the world,
we surrender ourselves
to Your embrace, O God.
May this New Year be a year of grace,
of growth, of deepening faith.
May your light shine upon our path,
