In a recent sermon, Methodist pastor Jeffrey Rickman boldly proclaimed that the Sabbath hasn't changed, and Christians are still required to observe it on Saturday. He went even further, declaring that not keeping the Sabbath is a sin! The Sabbath is part of the Ten Commandments—the Fourth Commandment, to be exact—and the Bible defines sin as violating God's Law. This means that breaking the Sabbath is just as serious as sins like stealing, lying, or adultery.

Most Christians believe that the Sabbath was replaced by Sunday, which they call the Lord’s Day, in honor of Jesus’ resurrection. But the Bible never says that. In fact, Sunday observance didn't begin until after the New Testament was written. It started with Christians in Rome and Alexandria and spread after Emperor Constantine’s Sunday law in 321 AD.
