Let the Children Come: Receiving the Kingdom Like a Child (Mark 10:13–16)

In this message from our ongoing journey through Mark’s Gospel, we pause at Mark 10:13–16 to see Jesus’ tender heart for the least and the youngest. When the disciples rebuke those bringing children, our Lord is indignant and commands, “Let the children come to me…for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” We unpack three movements in this passage—unrighteous rejection, righteous rejection, and righteous reception—to uncover what it truly means to approach Christ with nothing to offer but open hands and a trusting heart.
